How overnight care works with us

Nights are when most families reach breaking point. A partner who has not slept through in months, a daughter on the sofa listening for a fall: overnight care gives everyone back the night.

A sleeping night suits someone who needs help once or twice at most. The carer has their own bed and is woken if needed. If help is needed more often, or someone is very unsettled, a waking night carer stays up and is there in seconds.

Overnight care can be booked for one night a week or every night, and combined with day visits from the same team.

What it includes

  • A carer arriving at 10pm and staying until 7am
  • Help to bed and help up in the morning
  • Sleeping nights: the carer sleeps, and is woken if needed
  • Waking nights: the carer stays up all night
  • Help to the toilet and repositioning through the night
  • A written note of the night for the family each morning

Often right for

  • Someone who gets up and is unsteady in the night
  • A family carer who has not slept properly in months
  • The first weeks home after a hospital stay
